The Festival Palabra y Música de Spoken Word presents its sixth edition enjoying its consolidation as an international point of reference in oral literature and Spoken Word. This sixth edition stands out for a series of novelties which further enrich the programme, and most especially for bringing us the physical presence of a dream with the name of a woman and the status of a legend: Patti Smith. Indisputable music star, poet, photographer, painter; pure charisma on stage and the voice of a committed message, Patti Smith will offer a poetic and musical recital, accompanied by the pianist Tony Shanahan.
The most notable novelties of this sixth edition are the addition of workshops, conferences and talks, as well as the collaboration of the British Council and the English Philology Department of the University of Oviedo. These additions reinforce a project in which literature and music blend to form a perfectly assembled performance. Intensity and magnetism in words, force and cadence in sounds will captivate the youngest audiences, encouraging them to lose their fear of literature, too long encumbered by its status of “great art”.
This is a festival full of performance activities, which delves as deeply into spreading a message as into pure enjoyment.
